Development in Art
The art started off as classical art, which was based on gods and goddesses from 500 BCE to 500 CE. In classical art there was sculptures, pottery, murals, and mosaics. Medieval art came in 500-1300 CE and it included stained glass windows, paintings and sculptures that used bright colors and often gold backgrounds. These two arts influenced Renaissance art. Renaissance art was from 1300-1600 CE. It had life-like figures and showed perspective. The art was either religious or nonreligious and showed people doing everyday tasks. The bodies in the art were active and shown moving.

Filippo Brunelleschi
He was born in 1377, and was famous for his development of linear perspective. Also he helped engineer the dome of the Florence Cathedral. He gained his inspiration from ruins of Roman and Greek structures. When he was in his early life he was part of the silk merchant guild, which included metal workers, gold smiths, and bronze workers. He soon became a master goldsmith in 1398. He also excelled in ship making, and in 1427 he built a monstrous ship called Badalona for trade down the Arno River. Later on, he invented a hoisting machine to raise materials for building large structures. His body lies in the crypt of the Florence Cathedral.

Michelangelo’s birth name was Michelangelo di Lodovico Burnarroti Si Moni, but was shortened as Michelangelo. He was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer of the high Renaissance. Also he exerted an unparalleled influence on the development of western art. Later on he was often considered a contender for the title of the architectural Renaissance. He was born on March 6th, 1475 in Caprese Michelangelo, Italy. He died at the age of 89 on February 18th, 1564 in Rome, Italy. After his death he was buried at the Basilica of the Saint Croce, Florence. Some of his arts were David, Pieta, Sistire Chapel ceiling, the last Judgment, The creation of Adam.
